It’s easy. I keep the bags in my trunk. Plus you not hulking in 20 bags that are difficult to recycle every time you shop. -Shannon Ward

We lived in Montgomery County, MD for a number of years, just outside of Washington, DC. All of the retail establishments there were required to charge 5 cents to the customer for every plastic or paper bag. The revenues from this charge were used for the county’s Water Quality Protection program. Living out there, we got used to bringing our reusable bags whenever we went shopping. So I continue to do it here in SD because I believe it’s the right thing to do for the environment. -Stephanie Peterson

I loathe unloading weekly groceries from 20 different noisy, shapeless, weak plastic bags. Absolutely hate it. And then what do you do with them? Put them in a bag of bags. Our reusable bags are larger and sturdier, so there's only 4 or 5 to carry for the same amount of stuff. They don't shift around or spill, and unpacking is far more straightforward. For me, that's a better experience for something I do every week. That it's better for the environment is a bonus. -Jacki Miskimins

We use plastic because it's convenient. I feel a sense of pride when I reuse and limit my use of plastic. I like competition and I stubbornly challenge myself NOT to use plastic, especially when it comes to plastic produce bags for fruit and veggies. Plus, reusable bags hold their shape, come in fun designs and sizes, and simply keep my conscious happy! -Kelcey
